“Five students achieved the very highest grade of A* in physics, English literature, psychology and extended project.
“The highest performing students were Jake Holmes who achieved A*AA and Rhiannon Schut who also achieved A*AA, closely followed by Megan Owen who got A*AB, and Paige Beecham AAB and Jack Bond AAC.
“The results were so impressive that five students are entitled to upgrade their university place because their results are so far beyond the entry requirements.

At the school the highest performing subjects were English language, geography, history, media studies, PE and product design.
Mr Mackereth added: “Students at DSLV achieved equally impressively which bodes extremely well for the post-16 collaboration between the two Daventry schools which springs into action on September 1.”
